Elementary science activities in our Earth Science book are an introduction to Earth Science. Our activity book contains 15 mini-lessons. Here is examples of
some of the information covered in the activity book. Children learn where the crust, mantle and cores of the Earth are located. They learn how crystals form and can increase in size into large crystals visible to the unaided eye. The what the inside of a volcano looks when they create a dough volcano. Each of these lessons are contained in our fun and fascinating book on Earth Science.
Kids science activities
Our Earth Science activity book contains kids science activities that follow the mini-lesson. Examples of some of the fun activities in the book include creating an Earth Cookie, making Spice Drop Crystals, testing for Magnetic Cereal, and taking a Coarse Look at Sand they have collected. Another favorite activity is Globe Toss where they find out what the percentage of land and water covers the surface of the Earth.
Students who do lots of science activities while learning basic science concepts continue to love science as they mature. Science should always be fun and exciting for young students and our kids science activities are designed to keep kids interested in science.
Elementary science activities should include lessons on the interior of the Earth, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, the oceans and space. Preschool through 2nd grade students should spend most of their time doing activities. Each activity should be accompanied by a short mini-lesson. Keeping the lessons short and simple with fun science activities keeps students enthusiastic about doing science.
Kid's science activities
The elementary science activities in our Earth Science book have a mini-lesson on a specific topic and then an activity they do that helps them understand basic Earth Science concepts. For example, mini-lesson is on the percentage of the Earth that is covered by water. This is a great small group activity where several students toss an inflatable globe around the room to other kids in the room as they count the number of times a dot on their pointer finger lands on a body of water when they catch the globe. After catching the globe 100 times they can quickly turn the numbers into the percentage of water that covers our planet. Next, they can discover the percentage of land that covers the Earth.
Preschool science activities
Simple science activities can help students understand basic science concepts. It is hard for students to understand how sound waves can travel through different materials to reach their ear. This is a fun Earth Science activity that has students making paper cup telephones. They use two paper cups, a string, a fork to make their telephone. One students holds two telephones to their ears while another one strikes the fork. They hear the sound waves that travel through solids, liquid and gases when they hear the noise. Other early elementary activities in our Earth Science Book include decorating a cookie to show the interior of the Earth, and how to recycle vegetable matter in a gallon milk jug.

Ring of Fire Science materials were recommended by Jim Brace-Thompson of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. He found our materials contain a wealth of information for the junior members of the society. He wrote that our books are beautifully designed and illustrated with easy-to-follow instructions for kids.
